OK - here's a couple of pics of the starter/heat shield setup on our 454/'88 Winnie MH - sorry for the rather poor visibility of the heat shield, things are pretty tight in there, and the frame makes it hard to find a decent perspective. In any event, the pics DO show how close and tight the exhaust system is to the starter - and in this case, the heat shield wraps more around the exhaust than the starter, but results are the same:

Very good photo Gary, thank you, I should be able to fixed up something, but it will have to wait a few days, the Brave is at the RV doctor getting a new refrigirator installed, The wife opened the frige door Friday and almost fainted with the smell of amonia.Very costly, $$$$$, I almost fainted when they told me the price !!!!!
