Then you know that all of the readings are at WOT ( Wide Open Throttle ), even the lower RPM readings.

I noted a significant decrease in cabin noise as well. However, since I added sound deadener at the same time, I didn't attribute it to the tune.

As far as I know dyno tests for hp/torque are all at WOT are they not? Otherwise how could you have a valid before and after comparison?

I live in CA and purchased 5 Star that was sent to me. When I went in to do the smog check I reverted back to stock settings and passed. The only negative for me is the surge in cruise control on long hills. Otherwise thankful for the purchase.

Just a reminder that as an IRV2 member you will get a discount for 5 Star Tune. Makes the price even better.

I'm making the point that you can't realise more HP or torque from a tune, at part throttle. Some claim to feel more power in regular driving. What they feel is a reprogrammed throttle response.

Did you go back to stock because you didn't want to take a chance, or do you know for sure that it won't pass with the 5star tune...???
Also, how many miles did you have to drive to reset all the smog monitors...??

I have smogged mine twice now with the tune loaded and it passed. I also live in CA.

I drove about 15 miles. Just an abundance of caution going back to stock. I will try next time to not change it.

True. Most folks use cruise control and have no clue what the throttle is doing. They like to set it and forget it so that they can focus on the road ahead without trying to maintain proper speed which can be a challenge driving a big slowly responsive MH.
My point is that Ford uses it's factory tunes to control HP and torque in the big V-10. 5Star brings it back to 362HP and 457FP @ 3250RPM. Get one and try it for yourself. You will be pleased as thousands of others have.
I owned an older rig with 2007 chassis before Ford de-tuned it and was pleased with it's power. I was disappointed with my new rig when I first drove it. It was constantly searching for gears and was under powered. I read about the 5Star and decided to try it. It was the best investment I have ever made in a MH modification.
When I ordered mine there was a note on the web form stating "not legal and ship-able to CA" (I guess that changed?). And no I don't work for them, but I did get the IRV2 discount.

I'll stick with a stock tune. I don't want my engine lugging ( growling ) up hills.
Lug them and the get hot and waste gas.
My 2017 V10 Axis is a 2 valve V10 in a E450 chassis. Just pulled the 6 mile, 5° grade, northbound on I-77, Fancy Gap, at 65 MPH, towing a 4 door Honda Ridgeline, in Cruise control.
No complaints and more then enough power, without spending $400.
