Not sure why there is a "disagreement."
My point was the diversion of the thread to the handled cord which does not address the OP's question.
IMO, the grease and screwdriver solution will work but, of course, there may be other solutions or gadgets as well. There is no disagreement there.

I heard about this lube at the Freightliner rally last week. https://amzn.to/2JezEWM They said it was a dielectric and can be used on our power cords. I have not purchased it yet. It appears the inventor was from the 82nd Airborne hence the name. It was a good story anyway. I have put it on my wish list as I too have to tug pretty hard to undo those connections. Sometimes its even hard to pull the 50 out of the pedestal, but that's not often, more often its a wobbly connection that needed a new receptacle a long time back. -Bill

Thanks All
I think my best option is the grease. I'll give it a try and report back

I agree,, post #9 gave, imo, what i think the better option would be. I realize it doesn't take much dielectric grease but still, it's enough to get on you and attract dirt/debris to the spades and female innards. I'd rather not have to mess with that.

Yes even with grease it’s a hard pull.

I believe I did clearly did read the OP post... No jumping, no rabbit holing...
Specifically: "Then the last thing I have to do is separate the 110v adapter from my motorhomes 50amp plug. It really gives me fits. Is there some kind of gadget that I can use to pull them apart?"
Two responses were to have handles on the 50a connector. As I commented I have a handle on my 50a connector and the 50a and 110v adapter is still difficult separate. So wanted to know how the responses were effective at solving the OP's problem - which I also encounter, as maybe I am missing something in how a handle on just the 50a connector solves the problem.

I would think it would work fairly well if you placed the handle of the adapter down on the ground with something like a 1x2 slid through it to step on. Then while holding that down with your foot, grasp the 50 amp plug's handle and pull straight up.

You missed the plug-dog. You put it on the connector without a handle. You will then have the plastic handle on one side and the cloth handle on the other side.

The campground I'm in is one of the few places I can, on occasion, use my "Cheater box" (two 30 amp plugs one 50 amp outelt)
The outlet on the cheater box is basiclly brand new And a Plug dog won't work due to teh size of he box (I may make something)
I use a straight claw hammer to pry 'em apart (Small one 8 oz) after unplugging from the park.
Alas Shortly I'll be putting the cheater box back in storage (next week)

I’m not sure where this angry response of yours comes from, we are all here to share and learn. To get everything out of this forum I find an open mind helpful.

Another good idea. I'll try that after a touch of grease!
