7 pin charging post

I am having an issue where I am not getting 12v power through the Aux 12v post on the 7 pin connector .... I have found that there are several different fuses that are connected to the 7 pin connector.

I have turn signals, brake lights and emergency flashers, but the aux 12 v post is dead....

I am running a 2013 F53 chassis in a Newmar Canyon Star....

Is there a specific fuse for the 12 v Aux post?? If so, any idea which one it might be???

Thanks for any assistance you might give....

John-

Two questions for you:

1) Was the engine running when you checked for 12V at the hitch connector, and

2) Has the 12V charge line ever worked and stopped working, or (as far as you know) it has never worked?

Ford does not provide a 12V charge circuit in the V-10-based F-53 chassis, such as yours.

For years Newmar has provided wires between front and rear for this purpose, but has not connected them at either end.

If the charge line has never worked, then the instructions in this post by "JerryP" will help you get those extra wires hooked up. Or, they could help you find what someone else hooked up, and possibly the fuse that serves it.

For more information, see this thread:

What and Where are extra wires from rear?

Have you checked for 12 volts on PIN #4? That is the pin on my coach that has the power. The AUX center pin doesn't have anything. See picture.

the fuse for that 12 volt power is in the fuse panel on the sidewall of the driver's cockpit, next to your left leg.

Thank you for the quick replies...

I am the original owner, and have never checked this circuit before.

To my knowledge, it has never worked.

I did check pin 4 nothing.

Yes I knwo where the fuse boxes are, as hoping someone could narrow the search down a bit.... the fuses aren't marked and hard to stand on my head playing with them LOL

Going to dismantle the receiver and see if there is a wire connected to pin 4

Thank you..... and safe travels one and all

I understand that the fuses may not be marked, (did you check the back of the fuse cover) but if a fuse is blown, what value is there in checking wires? Ensure the fuse is good and then check the wires.

You can use an ohm meter to check if a fuse is blown without removing it.

I have heard of lots of cases where the fuse is fine but it doesn't work. I suspect there is often a 2nd inline fuse. I opened the thread to hopefully gain some insight. Luckily mine works so far.
