My gasser 454 ci will run at 80 ph all day long, and with a nice ride. No more noisy than at 65 in my opinion.

Therein is the problem. That smooth ride gives a false sense of security. On I-40, between I-95 and Wilmington, the average traffic speed is 90 mph. I seldom see anyone getting a citation. When there is an accident, it is a mess. DP or Gasser, a 80 mph or 90 mph crash is going to ruin your day to the nth degree. I have survived 90+ mph crashes on bikes and in cars (Corvette), but I walk funny, and it is permanent. I have two fingers that are numb, and I am missing three molars. I was lucky.
You guys be careful.
