8500 generator trouble

Generator stopped. Had one air con and microwave. Now it will not start. When pressing the button there is no clicking. And there is power to the starter. Generator is dead can not even see codes. Just dead. And there is diesel. We need help

First disconnect the 12v neg and pos leads from the gen. Be careful to shut the batteries off (usually chassis) or tape the pos so it can't touch anything. That resets the control board. 20 minutes and reconnect.

What make of generator is it? 8500 isn't very specific, but there isn't an Onan with that designation, so...?
