97 firan motorhome 454 mfi no spark

my motorhome with 51k miles was running fine but now wont start...turns over fine and getting fuel, but no spark. this started after i fixed wires that were chewed by rats or squirrills, and was able to get slideouts extended. im wondering will it not start if slideouts are extended? thanks in advance, roger

Sounds like the rodent chewed a wire for the ignition somewhere also.

You should be able to start the engine with slides extended.

Did it run after you found the chewed wires, and then wouldn't start after the repairs? If so, that's the area to start looking.

Happy Glamping.

Step 1: Check all the grounds.

If they are all good,

Step 2: Check them again, you probably missed one.

On a recent 'Cranks but won't run' problem on my Rexhall I found that there's a separate ground wire from the ECU (computer) to the block. You couldn't even see it unless you got under the coach.

Bad grounds are far and away the most common cause of electrical problems. Check every one, very carefully.
