99 Vacationer V10 stumble?

My 99 HR Vacationer with the Ford V10 acted up on me yesterday. Driving highway speeds appx 55-60 in rain and passing semis and it started stumbling. Kind of like if I were to turn off the ignition key really quick and back on. Has never done this before. Its got appx 63k miles. Not sure if it was ignition, water ingestion or tranny issue. Like I said, never has done this before. I had O/D off and rpms were appx 3500. My OBD scanner didn't show any odd codes. Has always had the EGR code on there though. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I think my 1999 V10 had a gas filter under the drivers seat. Ever replace that ?

V10 Stumbles in Rain

I had a 99 Tropi-Cal with this engine. In very heavy rain or rain/wind conditions the air filter can actually pull in rainwater. Pull the air filter and see if there are signs it was wet. Note that this condition can destroy the mass air flow sensor and worse the engine. Suck enough water and you get to lift the heads and bend some rods.

There are threads on iRV2 about this issue and its fixes. Early on Ford offered a revised air intake; that part is no longer available. Since then folks have devised several home-grown solutions.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll have to check that code again for the number, I don't remember. I've never changed the fuel filter, might be time. I have no idea if the PO did or not. He didn't keep a maint log or anything. I'll try to find those threads about the modified air intake.
