A&E one step awning control

I just had a new awning with new motor put on my coach. Last trip the awning wouldn’t return. I jumpered 12v to the motor wires and retracted it for the trip home, so I know the motor works.

Fuses are not blown, I have 12v at the control. I’ve ohmed the wires from control to outside, they are good. I hear a relay click and then I have nothing from the control for an extended period of time. I’m guessing the control is dead.

Unless I could find a source for the control at a reasonable price, I am inclined to wire it with a DPDT switch and fuse. I would like to include both the switch in the basement as well as the one inside the coach but not sure how to wire that. It looks like I have 3 wires coming from the remote switch to the control.

Any suggestions, recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Basis version Eclipse awnings just use a double pole double throw momentary rocker switch with off position in center. One position would feed motor each pos and neg the other reverse pos and neg. Look on EBay if testing shows control is dead. I have thinking to replace my one-touch with eclipse. The directions to do the one touch to Eclipse awning completely bypasses the control panel.

I found the following that I used to have the switch in the basement as well as inside. Wired in a 10 amp inline fuse and works great. I still have to bundle everything up in a box and mount where the old controller was. Total cost about 30 dollars.

When I had this problem my batteries were low. Have you checked to ensure you have a full charge on your batteries?

I had 12.7 + at the control. Enough voltage to run the awning directly.

Final assembly with relay and switch. I did have to switch polarity at the inside switch but a simpler and cheaper solution to a bad control.
