A Barn Find

We are about to close on a 2012 Winnebago Journey. It is pretty loaded with a 360 Cummins and all that.

The thing is it only has 17500 miles total on it. The farmer is not well and since they purchased it new it's set mostly in a shed on his farm.

Today we're going to drive it.

So far all it needs that I can see is a good wax job.

What are the date codes on the tires?

If the tires have been under-inflated while parked, even if the date codes are OK, you might want to consider replacing them.

No rodent damage inside or to the wiring?

Brand new Michelins.

None that I have seen.

Cooperhawk Sound like you might have found a good deal. I would have it inspected by someone familiar with Cummins and Winnebago RV especially the roof seams before you purchase it though. Check out azexpert on YouTube you will see what needs to be inspected.

It will need tires, assuming they are the original and it sat and wasn’t driven, so I doubt they put tires on it just for it to sit.
Look it over real good for rodent damage. That could be the deal breaker!

As others have said Tires and varmint damage would be my concern.

Plus engine sitting for a long time with minimal use. I'd suggest oil analysis for coolant and engine oil, also transmission oil

We purchased it this afternoon. I've been at this a long time and pretty well know what to expect.

He had the tires replaced because they started checking. The tires are very new. Underneath there is NO corrosion at all. Bright shiny metal.

My wife went through it from front to back, NO Rodent damage at all.

Two things, the radio isn't working right and one window screen is missing and he knocked off a thousand to fix that.

He kept it on the farm in a building with a concrete floor with plywood under the tires and ran it periodically. An old farmer who was wise in such things.

The best part is the wife is happy. Happy wife, happy life.

This is our third motorhome in almost thirty years.

Right rears almost flat. Probably should go over it really well even for a short drive.

Very nice coach, love the color scheme, very similar to ours. Congrats on the great find, hope it serves you well into the future. Our current class A also had very low mileage upon purchase averaging under 1200 miles per year.
