A/C not cooling 1996 P.A. Vision

had a nice BBQ with my son, his G.F. and her son. Ran the A/C to help keep My sons girlfriend cool. after about an hour the rear a/c was blowing warm/warmer air. Both were being powered by the genset. I have not gone up on the roof yet. Can these be recharged like automotive a/c units? Or should I be looking for another cause?

There is no shader valve to recharge, it does not mean it's impossible. If original think it's R22 not going to be easy to get your hands on it.
If it suddenly just stopped making cold air . I'm thinking the compressor has failed to start, creating a lock out condition. It's possibly the start capacitor , burned or poor connection some where in AC.
I would try to see if it if the compressor will try to start again . If the coil has not been cleaned in years it's a good place to start. The thick foam under the cover can be severely broken down and causing loss of air flow through the condenser.

Yup, R22 is outlawed. Time for new AC unit, any attempt to retrofit will cost as much as a new more efficient unit.
