A folding chair that doesn't weigh a ton.

We sometimes sit out under awning in our chairs we used on the boat. They are old and heavy. Does anyone know of a good chair they could recommend that folds up and can be articulated into a recliner? It seems what looks good online or in the books doesn't pan out or match up with the description. I would like to get some recommendations. Thanks for the help.

As a compromise:

Folding Director’s Chair with Ottoman - GCI Outdoor 46472 - Folding Chairs - Camping World

Folds super flat, 3-4" thick, three position reclining back,
less than 10 lbs, I keep the ottoman separate and rarely use it.

I think outside chairs are highly unique to all of us. I would recommend going to a Costco, Sams, Camping World, and test driving until you find a good fit. We retired some basic director chairs with a newer improved version from Sam's. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/direct...lp:product:1:7

Our go to outdoor folding chairs are from Stongback Elite chairs. Great back support, fold reasonably small, and stronger then the first generation (Of which we still have two of.). Very comfortable for longer campfire sits!

We also have two LL Bean rocking folding chairs. Which seem to be well built. They also make a recliner type chair that you might want to check out.

Best to luck to you,

You can't beat LL Bean's lifetime guarantee on everything they sell!

We have two of these chairs. Not heavy, very comfortable and they dry very quickly if rained on.

We love these anti-gravity chairs. Amazon lists the weight at 18 lbs which is probably about right. You wouldn't want to carry them around at a festival, but from the cargo bay to the patio and back, no problem at all. They fold easily and pretty compactly. They are VERY comfortable sitting upright and at every level of recline. They've been outside nearly every single day for 3 years and don't show any sign of wear. The fabric dries almost immediately after being rained on. We see chairs like these at nearly every campsite.

I bought a zero gravity chair from Amazon based on recommendations from other Amazon customers. This one had a 4.7/5 score. I hated it and the only way it would recline is with me standing beside it then lock it into place and climb over the legrest to get in.

This week I saw some in Page Lumber and on a whim sat down in one. It was heavenly. It fit me and easily reclined with me sitting in it!! I would have gladly paid double the $78 price. And! It's not lightweight, but probably 5 pounds lighter than the hated chair.

I second the notion that you MUST try before you buy or you'll end up with a chair with great reviews that doesn't fit you.
