We spent some time remodeling the inside and I replaced the fridge and the water heater just to start off new. Mechanically the rig was well maintained but needed some cosmetic work which was fine by us. Some others suggested an older Fortravel and I would agree on that choice as well as Safari, Beaver and Country coach (i'm sure there are others as well). These are higher end units with solid wood cabinetry and some like mine have real oak flooring that can be easily refinished and repaired. The siding is aluminum and the lower storage area is stainless steel which I felt was a plus. Good luck on your plans and have fun with those grand kids!

Start with post number 15.

Always a chance you can find something nice at a bargain but frequently when looking for a bargain you end up with a pay me now or pay me later scenario.

I shopped around for months until I found our 2004 Allegro 32A gas 4 years ago. It had 30,000 miles on it and all of the maintenance records. Excellent condition on the inside and always stored under cover. I now have 42,000 on it and the only thing I have done is change all tires and oil changes. Just be patient and check it out thoroughly and you should find you motor home. Good luck.
