A slope question for Diesel’s with Duallies

Hi all,
When camping on a hillside (grass at races) is it better to face downhill and level up the front tires or face uphill and level up the duallies? I can’t face sideways so that is out. The other point is that if I face downhill I still have to back up in order to leave.

Currently I am facing uphill and leveled up (attempting to) the duallies.

Thanks for your thoughts.

You need to keep your duals on the ground, that's where the parking brakes are.

Thanks Argosy. I have my tires on blocks and the levelers are down just to ad some stability.

ALWAYS, raise the FRONT and leave the rears firmly on the ground, as they are your parking brake.

I do the same when I have to level up hill. I back the rear onto blocks so rear wheels stay firmly planted. But my choice is facing down hill. Mainly so I don't have to deal with the blocks and it just make me feel better.

Another consideration besides the parking brakes (which is definitely important) is that the front axle / front jack(s) are carrying around 10k lbs.... The rear axle and jacks are carrying 18k or more.

If you are sitting on grass, you are going to punch holes in the ground with the jacks trying to lift the rear wheels.

Hopefully the slope isn't much, but you can put boards under the front if you need more height. Hope you have a ladder for the outside steps!
