AC fan never shuts off
2014 Thor Palazzo 35.1. Dual Dometic AC units with ducted delivery.
Running both AC units at same temperature. Rear shuts off completely when temperature reached, but other unit shuts down compressor, but fan never stops? Is this "normal"? Does anyone have any suggestions/comments on this?
Also, running both on generator yesterday while traveling, both units turned off completely. When later connected to shore power, they ran just fine. What's with that?
Thanks for any help.

It's traditional to put your RVs Brand, Model, and year in your signature or at least mention it in your posting. Helps get better answers. And if you know the model of the component you're asking about, the ACs for instance, it helps to name those too.

Maybe a dumb question, but did you happen to have the fan turned to ON instead of AUTO? With the fan set to ON, it will run constantly regardless of the thermostat setting.

Not dumb at all
Thanks for the reply, and not a dumb one at all. I have done that before (on a different thermostat), but this thermostat only has 4 settings: fan, a/c, heat, and off. On a/c, cools just fine, but fan never stops. Shorting somewhere perhaps?

It happens sometimes, with my Dometics........they get confused !
Usually a thermostat reset, or pulling the DC fuse fixes it.

Yes... and IIRC in FAN you should have the choice of "auto" or "low/high"...... There is no separate fan setting in the heating or cooling mode.

Most have the option of fan 'low','high', or 'Auto'.

On mine if you set it to high, the fan will run continuously on which ever unit you made that selection and not shut off, compressor just cycles to control temp

Yeah, thats generally what they do when the fan is set to high, or low.
Only on Auto will the fan shut down with the compressor.
