AC out, can't locate one with heat pump

If it’s really doubtful you will be in your RV during cold weather, you are not giving up anything by sticking with a A/C only. Might even be more reliable as then there is no reversing valve to go bad.

I almost never use my heat pumps.
Heat pumps only work to about 50f, pretty rare in my camping experience.
If it’s 60f I don’t need heat.
When I’m in 40f weather I have to use my Aquahot
I use my Aquahot diesel heat 99% of the time.

RV Products Shop, Peck KS

I just replaced a Coleman-Mach 15 with Heat Pump and ordered through RV Products Shop in Peck, KS -- they are very near the Wichita KS factory.
The whole process took less than 10 days including confirming stock, ordering, shipping to AZ, removing the bad one-year old unit (freon leaked out) the installation of the new unit by a local mobile tech.
The only question is whether I will be able to offset some of the total cost of parts and labor under warranty. The temps in AZ are reaching 100F+ every day now so the need was urgent.

About four years ago our rear AC unit went out on our 1989 coach (who would have thought!!?)
Anyway, delivery was "available" for November. In Wisconsin?? They had to be kidding, right?
Anyway, we would drive by this salvage yard on the way to the Doctor's Clinic and I kept seeing these two class C units in the yard with an AC unit on each roof.
Finally went in and asked if we could go out and look at the AC units.
Came back and said the one is trash--parts missing. The other one looks OK.
I asked how much and was told $150. I said no way!! I don't even know if it works. New price? $25+ tax but we had to take it off without yard help.
Got it home and set it up on sawhorses and test ran it. It ran cooler and quieter than the newer unit up front on the coach roof.
My reasoning was that any AC unit on an RV up here in the north woods probably hadn't been used much.
Doesn't hurt to pursue alternatives if the need is great enough.

When I purchased our MH, the fwd Heat pump didn’t work. I asked the previous owner and she wasn’t willing to give out much info. But the RV shop told her that the heat pump needed to be replaced. That was a costly option, that I didn’t want to just fork out the money for. So I did some research and found that the wall thermostat was the issue. And as things age it’s harder to locate various parts. But I found one and copied off a manual to program the unit. It was clearly worth the couple hundred bucks rather than the $ 1,800.00- $2,400.00 to just suck it up and fork out the fuel money. The repair shop was hoping for replacement cost weather they repaired and said replacement. Hard to believe their are dishonest people willing to prey on innocent people.
Good luck, with your solution, advice is free, good advice is priceless.
