AC unit

I'm looking for opinions on a decent 15k unit. I'd like to stay around $500 for the unit and lower unit. I saw an Atwood Air Command that is 15k but more like 18k and had an amp draw about 14. Suggestions???

They state efficiency is like 18k but these units have many complaints if you search them. I will be changing my bedroom unit shortly moving the living area 13 k to the bedroom and installing 15 k to living room and dumping the 10k unit over the bedroom. I'll be installing a Coleman Mach 15. They have the best rep as far as rv ac units go. Search and you can get one for 500-600

I just replaced both my AC's with Coleman Mach units. 13,500 btu for the front and 11000 btu in the bedroom. My Rv is 36' long and they keep it nice and cool inside with it being 90+ degrees outside. Plus, they have a fairly low amp draw and I can run both with my 30 amp system.

My coach, 30', has:

factory 15k BTU up front Coleman Mach 3
Add on 11k BTU in rear bedroom Coleman Power Saver

Able to run both on 4k generator.

If amp draw is an issue you may want to check out the Power Saver line of Coleman's.

If you currently have a Dometic AC and thermostat, can you replace it with the Coleman. If so, do you have to replace the thermostat as well?

If you have the Dometic comfort stat that is electronic rather then mechanical I don't believe it will work with a Coleman unit.
