Adding air on a Workhorse

Hi folks.

We have a 2008 Daybreak on the W18 chassis. I'm going to add air bags on the rear suspension due to running well loaded but within specs and so I can stiffen/raise the rear a little to clear speed humps, the rear jacks are very low and catch routinely despite my best efforts.
The manufacturer claims improved handling, the coach actually drives very well as is, but improvments can't be bad which got me thinking, is it worth adding air all round?

Anyone done this and what do you think?

I think adding air bags has many positive effects, and very few possible disadvantages. It's a great way to level the coach to compensate for weight variations on all four corners. I have found it to help quite a bit. I didn't put in any fancy on-board air compressor. I use a bicycle pump to inflate the bags manually at schraeder valves on the coach body.

You do have to be careful that you don't put so much air in the bags that your ride becomes too stiff. Good luck!

I added air bags to the rear of my 07 Gulfstream 40 foot gasser. The difference was very noticeable. The body roll and the rear swing was all but eliminated. I did notice the effect of side winds and semis blow me around was also lessened. I did purchase the system with its own compressor with remote. I only needed 30 to 40 pounds pressure to level out.
