LOL, gotta laugh at this post.

We were at a CG last year that had many high-end Class A motoromes. In drives a 1987 GMC motorhome in perfect condition and he parks next to one of the (to be unnamed) high-end coaches. Young couple get out and set up their campsite. Very friendly and willingly show off their coach. Within a short while, they were surrounded by admiring RVers from all around the park who strolled by and voiced admiration. Comment I overheard came from the owner of the next-door, high end coach. In all seriousness, he complained to his friend that he had spent close to a million dollars on his rig and people were fawning over this vintage coach.

Here is a picture of a like GMC coach.

One couple I know was turned away from a Native American owned casino RV park as soon as they said how old their vintage Airstream was. I saw one RV park who had a sign that said."We have the right to reject any RV a site based upon age or appearance. " The owner said the sign was because he's seen 2-3 year old RVs that looked like they were 20 years old and 20 year old ones that looked new.

Wow. We have stayed there many times. Sometimes for a month or more in our 2002 Eagle. Many other coaches there were well over 10 years. They must have gotten stricter.

I have an older rig, a 1997 Fleetwood Bounder 34J and I have been rejected by a couple of RV Resorts that I probably couldn't have afforded anyway.

Most places just ask me for recent images, and I have a file of them on the desktop just for that purpose. Most places let me stay, my RV is a bit unique, and has a well maintained exterior.

Just further signifies the stupidity of such a rule.
It's their loss IMO.

I used to race sports cars with a very nice guy who was at the time #14 on the Forbes list of richest men in America. His daily driver was a Honda Civic and he wore the same Timex watch that I had. He also had an exotic car collection and a private jet, but chose not to flaunt his wealth publicly.

As for me, my very thrifty parents instilled some sort of value in me that is at times both a blessing and a curse. I can afford just about any coach I would want, but I took pride in buying a low-miles, 15 year-old rig that someone else had already taken the depreciating hit on. If some park wants to send me down the road to their competition, so be it.

About 30 years ago a Prevost club held a gathering at campground we were staying at in Carthage Missouri. The majority of the members were extremely nice and even invited us "poor folks" (our label not theirs) to tour their RVs and several invited us to return for drinks that evening. I have learned that people reciprocate the attitude that they receive. We have been treated like an unwanted step-child by the "seasonals" many times in 50+ years of RVing.

One of the nicest people we ever met on the road were in a Prevost parked next to us in Pismo Beach, CA. Said he was a retired truck driver. Turned out he owned the trucking company and had a few homes that they traveled to and from with their coach.
Another somewhere invited us over for drinks after commenting on his rig, while on a bike ride.

With some correction tape and a copy machine, anyone can make their RV any year they want. ... of course only for the purposes of the RV park police... not the real police.

Things must have changed there, as we've been there more than once and in our 98 gasser, as well.
