There is a connection, it is a warning when you shift to neutral with the brakes released so you won't roll away. Maybe something is chewed there. On mine I had to replace a low air sensor on my front tank as it was doing something similar. On mine there is one on each tank. I have also heard others having a problem with a switch on the bottom of the park brake valve (knob). Good luck.
