Air Compressor Question
Hey All, I've been thinking about adding an air compressor as "supplemental equipment" to my RV for two reasons:
1. They are great shop tools.
2. Also, tire pressure is immensity important. Lowing the pressure is easy. Increasing the pressure requires help. Thus a compressor.
Point 2 leads to my question: can anyone recommend an air compressor that is to be stored in an RV and is capable of inflating Class A RV tires at a reasonable rate to maximum PSI? ( I may never need 125psi in my tires, but I would at least like the capability. )

I carry one of these in a storage compartment of my coach: 4 gal. 2 HP 125 PSI Twin Tank Air Compressor
BTW, Class As with air brakes and air suspension already have an on board compressed air system you can use inflate the tires.

What Mel said. Now that I know that I only need 95psi max for tires (after 4 corner weight) I will just buy the correct chuck and a long hose. If my kitty CAT runs I have air.
When I thought I needed 120psi, well, that is much tougher with coach air!

Porter-Cable 2 horse power six gallon 150 PSI pancake air compressor. Google it and not too expensive online. Measures approx 18" tall and 17" wide. Carry mine regularly and is very nice to have.

I've seen many people using this one from Harbor Freight.
12Volt 150 PSI Compact Air Compressor
I bought a VIAIR model that looks just like that one and paid about $270 for it before I knew about the one above.
Does your MH not have an on-board compressor?

I'm doing final shopping for my MH next week. I don't know if it will have on-board air or not.
I posted this question because I have a list of things that I want to be ready to get once I have a MH.

I love my powertank.com 10 lb Co2 tank. Have it 6 years. Refill it about once a year. Super quick and quiet. Great digital gauge. Can use to clean LP burners etc. with air gun accessory.

Installed this one permanently in a front bay.

Six years and not a whimper of a problem. Inflates bus tires, runs air tools, keeps bus air system up to pressure when parked for long periods. Brings air bags up and ready to go before starting the bus engine.
Since it is inclosed in a relatively sound contained area, the neighbors never crab about noise.

I'm real happy with this one. Weighs about 20 pounds, 150 psi, I only take it to 85 for my tires but it is fast. Got this at amazon, Sears has it also as a Craftsman, $100.
Edit
BTW, it is also low amp draw, runs off my outside plug. Generator or Campground current.

Looks like a very cool way to go! Do you use it for other things besides tires and LP burners? What does it cost to have it filled? At a welding shop?

Porter-Cable Pancake
This is what I use from Home Depot. It fits nicely down in the basement, on sale for $99 right now and works very nice as the output pressure is adjustable. I paid a little more for mine, I think $99 is a great price for this.

DeWalt twin tank contractors compressor. Fits in rear compartment and fills 100PSI tires up quickly. Used to have a tankless 12v that managed the 100+ PSI but it took forever. Used a clip on chuck and came back every 5 minutes or so. Now it takes only a minute or less for each tire if no leaks.
