Harbor Freight 150 psi/6 gallon for $99 after discounts = heavy, loud and inefficient. Could not bring my rear tires (275s) up to 95 pounds
Porter Cable referred to in this thread, 150 psi $99 on sale at Lowes = quieter, lighter, more efficient but it still had trouble reaching 95 in those rear doubles
Determine what CFMs at what pressure you need and then google air compressors and you will get a list of everyting from the little pancake compressors up to the big two stage commercial jobs. I would not waste you money on any of the little cheap jobs, and be causious what you look at some manufactures will tell you their compresssor will do 125 lbs. but it might take 30 minutes to get up to that presssssure. the pressure is not as importand as the cfms itwill put out. I would recommend looking at something made in USA and doing 150 psi at 10 plus cfms. That will handle your tires and most air tools. You can go with large volume tank if you are going to use a rotary air tool, they take a lot of air. I carry a dual tank Emglo 2hp 7cfm at 90 lbs with max 160 lb cap. in one bay. I have a 5 hp 100 gal. 17.5 cfm at 125 lbs and max 165 lbs for my shop. What that means is the compressor will provide 17.5 cubic feet of air at 125 lbs continuously and it will cut out (off) at 165 lbs.
