Your not going to change Don's mind on anything.

I'm saying, if you reset this filter minder every time you have the hood open, and one time your filter minder is showing no restriction, this is the time to worry! Your filter may be coming apart, and heading towards the turbocharger! There's pictures on the Entegra forum of a members Ecolite filter that has come apart, and partially sticking out of the filter outlet. The owner said the paper showed no sign's of ever being saturated with water.
The Farr either direction disposable filters have recently improved their design, with steel mesh on both sides of the paper media, so the chances of this happening should be slim now.
