Ok, get mad at me also, but … a “air fryer” is just a catchy name for a turbo convection oven, it just makes more noise and had a stronger fan. They don’t even really operate at a higher temperature, as deep frying is usually done at 350 degrees. I had not known they are starting to make “air fryers” integrated with microwaves, but, all you have there is a convection/microwave oven with a stronger fan. No reason it should not work, and no reason not to use the convection part (see comment above about temperatures).
I have a convection oven that I use with a pan/wire rack insert that does exactly the same thing as my “air fryer”. So again, nothing significantly different in technology with the air fryer.
