Air Springs...or not?

My 92 42 Safari/Monaco, purchased used, does not have any air bags/springs anywhere in the suspension, yet there is a Goodyear suspension sticker on the side. Did it have air springs? How can I find a current part number? Needs something...new mechanical shocks helped, but only a little

I'm a bit confused. Is it a Safari or a Monaco - those were two very different companies in 1992. Monaco didn't buy Safari until 2002, which would be a more likely date for a 42 foot coach. Whichever it is, what is the coach model? If it is a Safari model, it has a Safari Magnum chassis (whether it is a 1992 or a 2002). When Monaco bought Safari, they eventually migrated all the Safari/Beaver logo products to a Roadmaster chassis, but that took a few years. In 2002, Safari branded coaches rode on the original Magnum chassis, designed and built by Safari.

From what I understand, the high end Safari Magnum chassis was similar to the Monaco Roadmaster chassis and I'm wondering if you simply missed the air bags. It's an 8 air bag system where the air suspends a subframe where the axles are actually attached. If you only look at the axles, you may not see the air bags.

Welcome!!! I had the BFG Velvet ride suspension in my 2002 Safari Zanzibar. I loved the coach & it served us well until 2015. If your coach has the torsilastic springs you have no air system, hydraulic brakes, and a mechanical park brake. https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Safari-Velvet-Ride Does your suspension look like this?

Post Air Springs or Not

Contact Hendersons Line Up at 541-479-2882 and tell them your suspension. They make a kit to solve your ride and handling problems with velvet ride suspension. Do not know the price. It is my understanding that it does wnders with the velvet ride. Good Luck and enjoy your Safari, I do mine. Hugh

When were considering purchasing a Safari Panther I joined the Yahoo Safari owners group, they have/had a huge Safari specific library. I don't know if the group still exists today, that was 2013. I do remember one man purchased all the extra suspension parts from the company going out of business.
