Alfa Gold LR Slide Malfunction

HELP!! Need info ASAP. I have 2005 Alfa Gold with a malfunctioning LR slide. The slide retracts normally, but will not extend. The slide is currently retracted and upon pressing retract on the switch, I can hear the expected clicking sound she system would make when trying to retract a fully closed slide, but when pressing the switch to extend, there is nothing. No running motor, no clicking, nothing. Completely dead. To check the switch, I swapped the extend and retract wires, but it did not change anything so the switch appears to be ok. I have a wiring diagram and noted two solenoids, one for extend and one for retract, which I suspect might be the problem, but I cannot find where they are mounted. The near worthless manual describes how to manually extend the slide but I cannot find where the slide motor is located. The manual (as well as a You Tube video) states the motor is located under a plastic cover in the compartment behind the left front wheel well. That compartment however, on my rig is occupied by the Aqua-Hot system and I cannot see any plastic cover or access panel. I also checked the fuses under the dashboard as well as the two 5 amp fuses on the Disconnect Relay and they all checked ok. If I could just find the solenoids I could purchase a replacement extend solenoid to see if that would correct the problem. Any help in describing the location of these items would be greatly appreciated.

Not on a Gold but a 2004 SeeYa, the slide motor is located above the first compartment and a carboard cover has to be removed to access. I use a long handle 1 1/4 oppen end wrench to manually move the slide, you need to disconnect the wiring to the motor brake.

Thanks for the reply, but the problem I'm having is that the above mentioned compartment is fully occupied by the Aqua-Hot hydronic heating system. The interior walls (top and sides) appear to be constructed out of plywood most likely due to the heat generated by system. The entire top panel in this compartment is flat with no access to anything above it. There is one You Tube video that mentioned some Alfa’s have a “Center Drive conversion” where the motor is located in the center, but I'm still unable to locate any plastic housing in any of the compartments.

Do you know if there are inhibitor switches on the doors to prevent the slide from opening if a door is opening.
I occasionally have the same problem, I go outside and slam the 3 doors that are under the slide and that usually solves the problem.

The solenoids MIGHT be on the firewall above the generator.

But I would suggest joining this group and asking for help there. Lots of very knowledgeable Alfa owners there. Be sure to say that you have 2005 Gold.
