Alfa See Ya

Hi All,

I've seen an Alfa See Ya diesel unit on Ebay that looks very promising, but I can't find anything out about the company...although I think it might have gone out of business.

Does anyone know anything about these motor homes?

Thanks
Barbara

In that case...is there any problem with getting them repaired...parts etc?

Alpha has had some complaints for reliability. The biggest concern is problems with the fiberglass. It chips chunks off of it. This happened for several years. Just make sure that the one you are looking at is not one on those years. Around 2004 was when they had the problem and it put them out of business.

I am glad to see you doing some homework on any coach you are considering to purchase. Since I am not only a master certified RV technician, I am an RVer myself (full time for 7 years at one time) and I can empathize with owner problems. Alpha electrical designs for charging three battery banks and reliable chassis circuits have always been a problem. Also as mentioned, the outside wall painting over bad fiberglass gel coats would be a very expensive fix. There are many other good choices on the market and I would recommend crossing this one off your list. Good luck, enjoy the hunt and keep us posted.

I was talking to my SIL's father a few weeks ago and he told me he got rid of his Alfa. Had it at the factory (I think he said two years ago) and one entire wall had to be replaced because of fiberglass problems. He's retired and a full-timer and was disgusted overall with poor quality issues. He's had several Class A gassers and DPs over the years, and just bought a new Tiffin to replace the Alpha. It's too bad because the Alfa seemed like such a good looking unit with some interesting features. I recall the Alfa FWs were very good products in their day; perhaps they went down hill when they added the As to their lineup?

We looked at them, lots of glitz and not much else. Very poor construction, pull out a drawer and look at the cabinet construction. Thin veneer facing with a soft wood frame. Even the Gold model I looked at was that way. Didn't like the exterior construction and the rouned frames for the storage bays cheapened the look of them.
