The only meaningful comparison is against a gas-powered front engine coach of about the same vintage (2006-2008).

Basically the diesel gives more available horsepower at low RPMS vs a similar gas powered coach. Peak horsepower is near the same, but you rarely get to use the peak horses of a gas engine cause most people don't want to rev it high enough to do that.
A few complain about engine noise, but any front engine coach is going to be noisier than a rear engine and both gas & diesel front engines get noisy as they apply power to climb grades and the engine fan speeds up to shed the heat.
