almost there

The new year has brought us closer to our goal,of being retired and FTers. We have spent the last yr. desideing on what MH we want. Now we have to deside on where to buy.We are Canadians and plan on moving to BC,on the sunshine coast. We live in Ontario until the summer,so not sure where to buy. We are looking for a good used 40-42ft DP.We will be sending 8-9 months in BC,so is this the best place for us to shop.

Nice,,,
get the one you, like and can afford, and one that will stand the temps in BC, with a lot of insulation, and a good heater, and a big propane tank, lol

I live in chilliwack BC in the Fraser valley. I found my recent purchase 2007 Monaco 38' on RVT.com. I was lucky I bought locally. There is not a lot of local product thought I was going to USA as lots to pick from ND better price but the dollar is a killer! Also there are 3 big RV dealers in area: Travelland in Langley; Fraser RV in Abbotsford and O'Connor RV in chilliwack. Welcome to BC you will love the Sunshine Coast it is beautiful!

IMHO, I wouldn't rule out researching the RV you know you want being south of the border. Lots of folks we've met have bought in the USA and brought back into Canada telling us they saved quite a lot. Of course need to calculate exchange rate out which has shifted recently, but can easily go the other way again, as well the requirements of registering in the province of residence. Those we've spoken to told us it was all pretty straight forward and more than worth the extra paperwork, checks, tax at border etc. Just saying.
