Any dynamic balancing still requires the tires to be round and spin true to eliminate vibration. There’s some simple science to properly mounting a tire to achieve that... but not everyone who mounts tires does it well.

I just put a set of centramatics on the front two days ago. They work as advertised. I left the weights on the wheels - no reason to remove. When I get new steer tires, I’ll probably buy Toyo’s... and have them spin balanced to get them close... and let the centramatics take care of the rest of the rotating assembly. Just my $.02.

Cheers
Something else I found useful, True Center. Didn't notice much on my drive tires, but on my steers, I believe it has made a big difference. Couple different systems out there, one is a sacrificial piece of plastic that gets inserted into the wheel, they work but are hard to find and need to be replaced every time the wheel is removed. The other method is a tube you place over 3 studs when the wheel is mounted, snug it up then remove the tubes and finish tightening. The metal tubes come a a couple different price points, the cheap ones I bought off flea-bay work on front tires but are too difficult to get off the rear. Haven't used the more expensive ones, but understand they are threaded which makes them easier to remove from the duals. Since I'm just doing my steers now, the inexpensive ones work great, I also run Centrmatics.

Well, it sure has been a while since I was on here. This summer was filled with the kids' baseball, softball, and then work. Pretty uneventful year with the Foretravel. We used it for some short trips but nothing major. She just went into winter storage. Thinking about a big trip in Feb/March but might just fly somewhere instead...if we do take the coach it will need some more work and I am not super excited to do it in the winter. I wanted to get a long list of things done this summer but life got BUSY! Hope everyone is doing well. I miss being on here more often, Ill try to check in.

Nbluesky - i was wondering the other day where you had gone. Certainly enjoyed your stories of repair efforts and your trips. We actually only took one trip this summer, then just got too busy with life, and now with getting ready to move to louisville (next summer) … which brings into question whether there will be any trips at all next year….

Have a good winter!

Hey fellow MN'n! I don't blame you wanting to get away from these winters. The older I get the more I dislike living in MN. If I had a heated shop on my property I would love to keep tinkering and getting stuff done on the RV. Now that it is in cold storage (indoors but miles away) I don't think I'll touch it unless we decide to pull it out and get it ready for a Feb trip. Still undecided.

Hope your move goes smooth, enjoy the holidays!

Thank you nbluesky. Neither my wife or i are from here (she grew up in louisville, so this is a return home for her … and iam looking forward to warmer/longer summers so i can finally have a decent garden!). But we have been here a LONG time, so Lots to get done tomake that move happen…

Not sure what to do about myname on this forum though when i no longer live in the frozen tundra!
