Yep, anything in Amazon Canada (by Prime) automatically gets 5 weeks added to the delivery date. I had ordered my coffee as per usual and they said 6 weeks. I cancelled and went to the Keruig site and can get it in 3-5 days, should be here Monday.

I needed a new monitor to work from home, Amazon 5 weeks. Dell, shipped withing 24 hours.

I know these are not essential items but when every item automatically adds 5 weeks there seems to be something fishy going on.

A US newspaper has investigated and states that suppliers(3rd party re-sellers) in Canada and US are saying that Amazon hides their delivery options, you have to click on 'Items available from these sellers" to see their delivery options (usually within a week).
Amazon has blamed this on a "coding error". Also Amazon will not return items to third party re-sellers (these are items they delay and are in their warehouse) and will not accept any new items from them. It's all based on profit as to who gets the "sell box" checked. The small re-sellers are really having a hard time because of this.

I have tried to order several things on Amazon lately and there was no choices given for delivery date. I pay for prim and the delivery date on Prime orders is now a month out. I should be given a refund on my Prime membership if they cannot fulfil; the terms of the contract. I end up. like you ordering from somewhere else.

Have had prime for a couple years. Normally delivered within one or two days, but 95% of my deliveries come out of the Houston fulfillment center, 50 miles away, though. Do notice that on the page before the pay now one, shows actual expected delivery date, so if it is too far out, I just back out and not do the order.

For those observing Amazon's Prime sporadic service, have you noticed the following banner at the top of each page?

I suspect their disclaimer about delayed shipping is a CYA type statement... there are probably many variables that truly decide how long/delayed the shipping will be..

Since that first experience, I have ordered several other items... most came within a week, a couple were just over a week, and one I cancelled cause I got it locally after a week's wait....

I've yet to have one take as long as their estimated dates that have been posted..
This is what I have found also. All of my items have shown up earlier than the estimated date.

Yep and it sounds nice and socially responsible but have you seen this? It sure seems it's more about the money @ $10000 a second

Prime will be back, but at this time, huge numbers of people are ordering everyday stuff on prime instead of going to a store. The extra traffic is clogging the system.

Normal be back to normal, but not yet.

I'm not on Prime, so apparently I have the one month shipping option. Ordered an awning shade on April 10, and expected delivery is May 10. It hasn't shipped yet.

I also think the delayed receiving is due to clogging of the system. I've only had delays with 3rd party sellers. That said, I've gotten most of my orders in my 2-day (if not 1 day) Prime contract. 1 distribution center is half an hour from me, another is 2.5.

I ordered something WITH prime and the delivery was supposed to be today (after waiting a couple weeks) and got a message that the new delivery was going to be May 16th MAYBE. I ended up canceling.

Most items I have looked at getting from Amazon with prime had deliveries out in May. I have been using more third party or buying outside of Amazon to get quicker deliveries which are 4-5 days in most cases.

Doing the same thing, ordering from other sources, there truly is life without Amazon!! And I was a huge Amazon shopper, we were invited to become prime members FOC. We are now ordering outside Amazon because of the 15+ wait for delivery. I have also decided that I want to reliably choose the country of origin. I've ordered an item that 'made in the USA' only to get it with an origin of China and then had to return it.

I ordered a battery for my portable generator monday and it shipped tuesday.

I try to find stuff elsewhere, but many times Amazon is the only logical choice.

Especially now with this pandemic still going on. I don't want to traipse from store to store hunting for something if I can get it safely shipped to me from Amazon. And since I'm a Prime Member, the shipping is free (OK, "technically" I paid for it in the $120 subscription) no matter what the total of my order. Many other places I could order from online have $50 (or more) minimums to get free shipping.
