Just found this thread today. Very glad everyone is ok. Thanks to everyone for sharing as we are learning a lot. We are in the early phases of looking for a Class A and this will be an important part of our education.
Again, thankful that you are ok!

so would you just use the Tyron device on the steer axle? Is it $2000 for both front wheels or per wheel?

I know, no worries. The only pics that bother me are the ones of my coach, before and after.

That is for two Tyron Bands, one for each steer tire/wheel.
No need to install them on the rear duallies unless you really want to. Normally you maintain more control if a blowout happens on one of the rears.
I look at it as cheap insurance hoping that it never gets used.
You will also need to purchase the Spider Tool for removing any old tires and installing new tires.

Just came across this post and wanted to say how sorry I am of the terrible first trip misfortune. I am so glad that everyone is OK. I remember when you were on the Entegra forum last fall doing your home work before selecting your Dream. Thankfully you purchased a well built coach and walked away. You have made us all a little more aware of checking our tires closely and more often. So sorry of your misfortune.

Thanks! Yes, we're very lucky and that coach was built like a tank! The tires were fine, pretty sure it was something on the road, but yes...always check those tires!

On my way home I stopped and bought a SteerSafe from Mike in Deming, New Mexico. And I had him install it, cause it wasn't doing me any good, stored in the basement and 2300 miles to go. Safety first. Glad you guys are OK. Safe travels always.

Sorry to hear this, glad you're all ok. We also had a front right blowout in 2012. We were lucky and had minimal damage. What brand tire did you have? Our blowout was on a 5 year old Goodyear 670. Now we have Michelins. Never will put a Goodyear on the coach again!

Concerning the Tyron bands, an experienced tire shop can remove them without the spyder tool, but I'd recommend purchasing it, as it will make removing them in half the time, saving extra labor costs.
