Another THUMBS-UP for Tyler Truck Center

I know this post will mean little to most as so few leave near Tyler Texas, hoever sometimes it feels good to brag on a good service.

Back in December I bragged on Tyler Truck Center for the service lady there who stayed in contact with me during repairs then helped getting as much as possible on my Extended Warranty such as Tie Rods and several cab AC items (compressor, fan, relay, etc). Well, I recently had cooling problems again with cab AC and my front tires were wearing bad....all since December which was perhaps 4-5K miles. I carried MH (about 90 miles away) back to the truck center and explained to service manager (nice lady from Dec no longer there) of problems and hinted that bad tire wear was since tie rod installation. (Some of you might have followed a few of my posts over last coupe of weeks where I was looking for two new 275 80R 22.5 tires, this is the reason and I did find a dealer near truck center and through nice lady there's advice got on Michelins Advantage plan.) For the happy ending of this story, I get a call from service manager, Bruce, in a few days telling me he had gone back and checked notes from December and found no mention of aligning of front end SO after discussions with proper management they thought "right thing to do" would be to have two new front tires like those on RV installed at their expense. With the AC problem only being a loose fitting that leaked Freon an easy fix plus I got a little Onan service done, I drove away feeling good about the experience and certainly near $1300 better than I thought I would be. I think the truck center went “the extra mile” for me and would certainly not have had to even offer, or even admitted to error.

Thanks to those who did have great input about Michelin plans, tire service, etc in a couple of threads. I believe a number of us learned from the posts. Bill

FYI. Frankie at TCi. a Michelin dealer, was so very nice in helping me, but in the end with TTC purchasing tires at dealer of their choice, I did not use her. She was even very kind after learning of TTC covering cost but from another tire center. She offered such honesty and kindness which is often not the norm of today.
