Talking Anti sway bar installer near Denver?

Background: I recently bought a 2022 Class A with the 22,000 lb F53 chassis. It has a few factory-installed chassis handling upgrades; e.g., Helwig anti sway bar and a trac bar up front, but I would like to add a Roadmaster anti-sway bar at the rear axle (and for improved safety, a steer-safe device at the front axle.) There are some great installation videos at the bottom of the page at this link: https://www.etrailer.com/Anti-Sway-B...er/RM25VR.html The install looks simple enough, but I don't relish the thought of working on a piece of cardboard with the rig elevated maybe 6" with 2X10's to do that task.

Question: Has anyone had a rear sway bar installed in the Denver area? I did, in fact, get one bid but it was crazy high and they wanted to keep the coach about 5 days. (I read somewhere that one should allow at least 2 hours labor for this task ............ that equates to 2 days of "hammer and tong work" for me :^) BTW- I don't even own a 3/4 in drive torque wrench ..... yet. :^))

Any leads appreciated.......here or via PM.

Best.

Edit: I am having trouble updating my signature...... the coach is a 2020 Jayco Precept 31UL

This recommendation is from a friend-of-a-friend type situation who my notes say have their 5th wheel serviced there but the owners of this place, Windland RV, are supposed to be extremely nice people that do good work at a reasonable price. It says the owner's name is John. I haven't used them myself so can't give a first-hand experience. Their RV service business is run in conjunction with a big RV and boat storage facility.

They are a Roadmaster authorized dealer BUT, I have no idea if they do actual suspension work on a motorhome or not. I'm kind of thinking that they could install an anti-sway bar, though. I suppose you can call them to see.

Another place that I know would install that Roadmaster anti-sway bar is Denver Spring & Suspension. They don't have a stellar reputation as I've heard some think they over-charge for certain services ...maybe that's who you called? But, if not, again, you can contact them and see what they say. They are an authorized Roadmaster dealer also.

Prior to your post, I had called 5 different shops and only one said they "did that kind of work." The quote from Windland RV was more than $1K lower than the only other quote I received. SOooo Windland will order the parts today and I will probably be in their shop next week! (John at Windland told me I was just in front of the Spring rush.)

Thanks a LOT for the tip. The forum "came to the rescue" one more time. :^)

I'll post back later after the work is all done, etc so that this topic will be in the archives ........ may help someone else down the road. (Using the search box, I could find nothing on this subject, currently.)

Ed.
So sorry I did not see this thread sooner.
Anti sway bars only have 4 points of contact. Two on the frame and two on the axle housing. At least that's how mine went in.
If you can wait till May and want to take a nice drive down 285, I'll put it in for free, or maybe a small donation.
I will expect you to bring the beer.

Thanks for the very generous offer, Mike. I am committed to Windland at this point and the Roadmaster parts are on order. He has done lots of them. I am a "dyed in the wool" DIYer, but it will be nice to have an RV shop that I can trust to do the things I no longer can do (I'm 91) and I don't mind chasing a few moths out of the wallet if I think the price is fair. :^))

Good times and safe travels to ya. I always enjoy your posts, BTW.

Your welcome.
I'm only 81 and still doing this kind of stuff myself, although I'm a bit slower than I used to be. My kids will get a well stocked shop.

I will match Mike's offer! I live in north Colorado Springs. You would have a closer drive to my house!

I'm just a spring chicken at 76! My shop is rather well stocked as well. I did notice the other day that I need to buy some acetylene and carbon dioxide for my welders!

Wishing you well youracman, I think I speak for Mike as well when I say, "We hope your installation goes without a hitch."

I hope I am still RVing when I am 91!

Must be something in the water (or maybe the altitude). Our neighbor down the road outside of Boulder is 94 and STILL driving a Class A.

Just a note, my brother-in-law bought a new Southwind on a Ford chassis a few years back. It came with a rear sway bar, but you could double it up with an aftermarket sway bar. He did that, the track bar and the front sway bar upgrade. He did all of this before he put any mileage on the coach. He ended up making it ride like a tank with too many suspension changes.

That's true Don.
I'm not familiar with the Ford chassis but on the Chevy W-22 that mine has, I think Yeloduster's experiments and mod's did hit a sweet spot in so far as handling goes compared to cost.
A track bar in back good shocks and the Sumo's mod (p32's out back) have yielded for me the best handling at a reasonable cost, and I drive old Jesebel like a hot rod.
I see no reason to add additional sway bars front and rear and a panhard rod up front, just to make her ride so rough that the dishes tumble out the cabinets.
BUT, some folks do see it necessary to copy a formula 1 car and if they want to spend the $$$ there are plenty of companies willing to take it.

Your milage may vary..........
