Anyone ever modded a Murphy Bed into their RV
I checked out all the mods in all the forums. I haven’t seen anyone post about this but I figured it can’t hurt to ask. Although, with some of the folks on this forum it can
Anyway, wife and I thought it would be cool to be able to flip up the bed in the bedroom to gain back that space during the day and not have it all consumed by the bed. I work from home and sometimes have to take video conferences and the bedroom would probably be my office during the day. Would be nice to flip up the bed so that folks on the call don’t see the bed behind me.
We’ve also seen some of these tilt-a-view beds, which I suppose if you throw a cover over when its tilted might kinda of look like a big futon. Anyway, just curious if anyone has seen a Murphy bed install in a coach somewhere. I expected coach manufacturer’s would be offering these as options given their space saving capabilities but that seems not to be the case.
I’ve read that some manufacturers used to offer it but I guess not enough people opted for it so they discontinued it.

Murphy beds are becoming more common in smaller TTs. The disadvantage is that when stored, they take up a significant amount of the front pass-thru storage compartment, as well as eliminating under-bed storage, which on a small TT is a significant trade off.
I have never seen one in a coach.

Safari use to make a bed that dropped down from the ceiling and went back up when not in use. However it's considered bad form to put the bed back up when your wife is still sleeping in it.

Putting bed up would be OK but when you let her back down the trouble starts

Winnebago and Tiffin both make a class c with Murphy bed. Have not seen one in a class a.

Just saw a 2008 Newmar Canyon Star 37ft sell in Nashville that had a murphy bed. Only one I've ever seen outside of the brochure diagram. The bedroom became the living room when bed was up, complete with two recliners, very cool.
If you've got lots of money to spend, check out Newell Coach, and Prevosts. They've done murphy bed designs for years. Typically in their design, there's a huge TV mounted to the underside of the bed. When the bed's up, the bedroom becomes a home theater, very very upscale.

Sure. Anything is possible if you’re willing to pay for it. I suppose if I really find it’s something I need/want, a Murphy bed hardware kit can be had for a few hundred bucks and then I can hire a carpenter to build the case.

What would be more ideal I think is a https://www.hiddenbed.com/
It's an easy switch from desk to bed. It's best to watch it on youtube to see how it works.
