Anyone going to EAA Airventure?

Anyone out there with some experience using the EAA campground? The main thing I am trying to find out is what amp service do they have in the sites with power. I called them and they did not seem to know and came up with 60 amps WTH.

I have never camped at the EAA, but I've been... and I do live in Wisconsin..

It's my understanding that, unless you have specific reservations, most all camping is dry camping...

Do you have specific reservations?
What campground/lot will you be in?

I'll see what I can find out for you

They have a lot of powered sites and have added more this year according to their site. The catch is after a date in late June the campground is open and a reservation can be made. But listen to this, when making a reservation for a site one has to pay for that site through the end of the event from when the reservation is made WOW. Hundreds if not thousands at $65 per night. I am going to try close to time but not if it is only 30 amp. It is $27 per night for no services. If we weren't so far away we would drive there and check it out.

We used to fly our plane there and camp next to it. Sold the plane and then tent camped several times. Last year we took our new MH there for the first time -- what a luxury after tent camping. We didn't get a hookup but stayed in the 24 hour generator area and relied on our generator. Had to make one trip to the RV dump while we were there for 7 days to fill up the water tank and use the sewer dump. Overall it worked out well and we are going again this year. I recommend going early, a couple of days before the official opening.
