Appliance issue

Good Morning All,

Hope someone can assist with this issue.

We have the (Whirlpool wfc7500vw 1) washer in our coach, and I find that I have to hold in on the door to prevent the start sequence from timing out, and preventing it from starting the wash cycle.

Once the cycle starts it operates fine, and completes the wash normally. Pushing the door at the bottom or on the cabinet below the door is required every time I want to wash a load.

My first thought is the door switch is out of adjustment, but I can't find any related repair pubs to this washer.

Anyone better info???

Thanks for your replies.

Sears shows exploded diagrams of the washer. TOP AND CABINET PARTS Diagram & Parts List for Model wfc7500vw1 Whirlpool-Parts Washer-Parts | SearsPartsDirect (I opened diagram on a new tab and enlarged it to view)

They offer the door latch mechanism But I bet it can be found elsewhere much cheaper.

You might decide it's too expensive to repair. Amazon reviews give it pretty bad ratings.

Thanks for that info Bob,

As far as ratings, I haven't found anyone saying good things about this washer. Other than this door issue, I have yet to experience any other problems with it.

I guess time will tell. Not looking forward to replacing it, very tight where it's mounted.
