Aqua Heat electric switch
Our Aqua hot has options to choose either diesel or electric. We have used the diesel several times and it works well. However last night I chose only the electric switch and it is still operating on diesel. What is up with that??

Did you turn off the "Diesel" switch??? Aqua Hot run on both, or electric or diesel. When both switches are turned on it run on both sources.

Yes, diesel switch is off. The switch labeled electric is on.

How can you tell it's still working on diesel if the diesel switch is off?

Mine makes enough noise so there is no way of missing the burner being on.

There 'should' be a third switch for your engine pre-heat. Sure this isn't the one you shut off?
Recall reading a thread recently where the AH switches were mis-labeled.

Exactly, Plus diesel exhaust is coming out the exhaust pipe. So why does the diesel burner come on when I push the electric switch? I really don’t expect anyone to answer unless they have had a similar situation. Thanks

My model does not have an engine pre-heat switch. Only two switches, Diesel and Electric. Both, when turned on separately, turn on the diesel burner.

Maybe it switches to diesel mode automatically if the electric alone can not supply enough heat to keep basement (water tank) from freezing or it can't meet the temp settings of your thermostat. I don't know.

I have a basement heater that works on diesel only. You can hear it running.

I have the same issue you describe with the exception the Light for the diesel burner stays lit 24/7 no matter if the switch is off or on. The diesel burner switch works perfectly and turns the diesel burner on and off like it should even though the control panel light stays lit.
Here is a video of how our Hydro Hot works along with how the activity lights down on the control board in the hydro hot bay, come on and off as switches are activated (the control board lights all come on/off as they should even though the diesel burner actually comes on when only the electric element switch is in the on position. The diesel burner light on the control panel is hard to see illuminated in the video unless your computer screen is somewhat dark or shaded.
With the diesel switch in the off position and the electric element switch in the off position nothing is heating and that in normal. But once I turn on the electric element the diesel burner comes on even though the diesel burner switch is still off.
I made the video to send to Roger Burke (No doubt the Hydro Hot Expert) but I haven't found a fix as yet. You might consider joining his board and submitting your problem. He is pretty good as answering questions, he sent me wiring schematics to try and help
RV Hydronic Heater Forum
Roger feels it must be wired wrong, but it worked fine for the previous 3 years and all of a sudden the light started staying on and I had not messed with the wires at all prior to the problem. Something could be shorting or grounding out but I have looked and it all seems fine. I replaced the panel control switch and got the same results.
Please let us know if you find a solution but we have just decided to live with the light being on and the fact we no longer have the option of "Electric Element Only" as the diesel burner will always come on when we turn on the electric element switch.
