Aquahot 600D
Hoping someone can help with an issue we are having with the Aquahot. Sometimes when we turn the furnace on in the bathroom, it blows cold air, even though the pipes in the basement are hot and the pump is working. Any suggestions about how to fix that.

I don’t have an answer but I hate it that I can’t do a blowout when I winterize.
My 450D says no blowout. Had to use 14 1/2 gallons to winterize everything

I just looked at the 450D manual on winterization an saw nothing about not being able to blow it out. Possibly I missed it. I blow my entire coach out, then I end up with filling the AquqHot, macerator stools & drains with antifreeze, takes 5 or 6 gal.
Possibly there is a better procedure than what you are using to do the winterization process.

You have two or three heat loops, turn on the other heat loop(s) to see if it gets warm. If it does, the hot pipes in the basement aren't the ones feeding the bath heater core.

Thanks Oldbiscuit! I think you have given me something to go on. I will try to give feedback when I find the problem.

Okay, here is the update. Replaced the pump for the bathroom heater, so everything working on that front. Now having problem with no hot water. Put in two different mixing valves with no change. Best results are about 85 - 87 degree. Rudy Leggett is stumped, so looking for help from the other experts.

The outside shower valve can operate as a mixing valve if it’s left open. Be sure it’s closed.

This is my procedure as well. It's worked for me for the last 6 winters.

Closing out this file. Finally got the Aquahot up and running with a lot of help from Rudy Leggett here in Houston. He is an Aquahot guru, so if you have questions, give him a call.
Finally decided that there was blockage in the coil. Loaded it up with vinegar and let it sit for about 24 hours, then kept pushing water through both sides until it busted loose. After about 10 days, we have great pressure and lots of HOT water!

Glad to hear you were able the descale the coil. From my experience it's never a small task or successful to clean any type of heat exchanger. For 200 - 300 you can get a portable softener. A good sediment filter works hand in hand. Normal sediments like dirt and rust are also trapped with the lime. Silica is the killer as nothing breaks it down.
