There are replacement retraction springs sold by HWH that have more tension. If the problem is retractions that are weak, that may correct your retraction issue.

Sho4go - you mentioned "Silicone" on the jack shafts. It may work for a while, but "silicone" does not play well with the seals or the fluid. The recommended lubricant for the shafts is "WD-40" or Automatic trans fluid (Red) WD-40 will fix "Lazy jacks". Extend jacks almost all the way, spray, and store.

Wow - I have never seen a "4 wheel drive Newmar Dutch Star" Was it a special order?
Should be very valuable as the only one of it's kind.

I like it, "4 wheel drive" is what it says, not "All wheel drive"....

Grease/lubrication is my business, I sell products to the oilfield industry, compatibility is essential to prevent downtime. I will site the linked page for info related to compatibility between silicone grease and almost all materials currently in use as seals in hydraulic systems. And here is a linked page that provides the compatibility of the same materials to Kerosene, the only listed aliphatic hydrocarbon, the primary ingredient in WD-40. While WD-40 is suitable for use with most materials, it is incompatible with many more materials than silicone. In most cases you could use either safely.
