Traded in our older motor home on a 2006 Daybreak. The old one had AZ plates good until March 2014. Az law rquires me to keep my old plates, for refund or transfer to next vehicle. 2006 Daybreak plates, Washington state, expired in Dec. 2012. Dealer issued 3day permit and, motor home now at temp location. Only get 3 day in WA. Called AZ Dept of Motor Vehicle to transfer title, plates & pay balance due for newer vehicle. So far so good-after 30 minute wait. Talked to person (level 1) then transfered up to level 2. after much discussion they couldn't help me. Only a dealer can do what THAT DMV person required. Talked to RV dealer in Everett, WA. Gave him phone number and persons name. The dealer couldn't even get tranfered to a level 2 person. So his hands are now tied and can't do anything. We had were planning on a trip across Montana and N Dakota, back home to Arizona. But stuck in Washington state, Arizona seems to require that I take the motor home to AZ to register it. Right--with expired plates, only 3 day permit & 3000 miles out of the way for our layed out trip. The other problems I'll keep short and list 1,2,3 etc.
1. Washington state issued title with third item in VIN # as a 8. Ford
chassis have no such number. Should have been a 6.
2. Insurance agent listed the number 8 as a G in the Vin number to the
Insurance Co.
2a. Az requires Ins Co to notify AZ of ins. Az rejected it. No such
vehicle with that VIN #.
2b. No proof of ins card for vehicle now. Should be fun trip back home.
3. Need another 3 day permit & RV dealer. Off to special inspection
in Marysville. With dealer the appointment took a week to get in.
Normal people the wait was 60 DAYS.
4. Before we bought the MH slight noise in rear end. Dealer had to
completely rebuild it. After much descussion.
5. Had RV dealer install 6 new tires. Rear end crew didn't clamp flex
line from inner duel to outer duel. Caught it before excepting MH.
RV dealer said take to tire store 3.5 mile to correct problem. When
at tire store, inner dual flat, clamp, flex line missing and valve stem
from inner dual broke off on way to tire store.
6. Back home waiting for inspection date I noticed the rear end had
leaked oil on my brand new 50'x15' concrete pad.
Most of the issues above have been kind of corrected. Except for title.
Will call AZ DMV tomorrow but not the phx office and try again.
All I want to do is get my rusty butt out of WA state.
And send Murphy on a long walk on a real short pier.
