Armstrong Tires for DP

Anyone have any experience with Armstrong tires. Local shop says they install them all the time and are the best bang for the buck. Says he would put them up against Toyos any day of the week. He is quoting me at $2700 OTD for 6 265/75R22.5 mounted and installed using balance beads on front tires. He said rears don't need balance. The tires on the motorhome are 10 year old TOYOs with only 150 miles on them PO had them installed and parked it. No cracking but at 10 years of sitting I am not sure I trust them.

good call on the tires although Id be more concerned about everything else that sitting 10 years can affect.

Years ago, I ran some Armstrong tires on bulk potato trucks. They were a very good and gave great service. I also would not run tires that have been idle 10 years supporting a load.

Primary issue is clear coat and paint is trashed. That is why I paid 30k for something that would have been 65k if paint was good. Planning on a lot of desert camping so it works for me. Already have all fluids I will be changing them out in everything. Roof is on good shape and there are no signs of leaks.

2006 Coachman Cross Country with 6600 miles on it.

That low milage is great. The previous owner didn't use it enough to neglect maintenance. I agree form follows function and cosmetics are low on the list when buying used. Gold find!
