At Home "Campsite", what's yours look like?
Hi All,
This thought has crossed my mind many times over the years, possibly creating a nice "campsite" area at our home parking site. Mind you, I don't have a vast area, actually, our 36' National is parked at the end of our driveway, but I have a grassy area to one side and gravel to the other. Maybe this sounds silly, but for the most part, our unit is here more than travelling, and often times we will spend a night out there "camping". Anything you have done for your parking area to make it more appealing. Any pictures or ideas you may have?

We poured a pad beside the house and brought the paver driveway up beside it.
I added 50A power and we have the cleanout to use for dump station.
Convenient place to work on it also.

Our rig is parked in our pole barn where it has 50 amp service. Visiting family have actually stayed in it in the past in the barn.
I am planning a family reunion this Summer and am in the process of installing 50 amp service to the parking area around the barn so cousins can park and plug in.
This area is about 200 yards from the house and lake and in deep woods with a fire pit. They should like it I would think.

Our campsite at home backs up to the Oneida river, a part of the Erie Canal.
6 months here, 6 months chasing warm weather.

Usually don't "camp" when stored but we have stayed in our rig a few times over the years when storms came through and knocked out power.

Found it!
This is a photo I saved from a post many years ago, and it is what planted the seed in my head many years ago. This is kind of what I have had in mind, a place that is attractive, holds the motorhome nicely, doesn't bother the neighbors and if you went out to it for a night, you would actually feel like you were away somewhere. BTW, looks like it, but that is not my rig!

Here’s a different approach. We built our elevated house with enough height for our RV and honored guest RVs on the other side (or a tall boat). Full hookups. Slides can be opened. On the waterfront.

That is the FL code - X feet amount above mean high tide and that usually means a 2-story building and the ground level is un-insured. The ground floor is a "knock down" area, meaning water/storm surge will knock down any walls and let the water go through. Home above should be safe.....
