Attempted the cheap handling fix

Ok, so yesterday, I was going to perform the cheap handling fix on my 2017 Newmar Baystar. I got the bolts out, but I couldn’t get the front sway bars to move for love nor money. I was under the impression that I should be able to line up one side by hand and might have to persuade the other side with a jack, but I didn’t think I should need the jack for both sides.... what am I missing? Do I just need to eat my spinach or what?

You started with your landing jacks up and parked on flat level ground? That's what you need to do.

Then there should have been no or almost no twist force on the sway bar and you should be able to get the bolts out and rotate the sway bar to line up with the inside holes. I used a bottle jack to help.

When I did mine I backed off the mounting bracket bolts a little and let the bar drop. Make sure you Loctight the bolts after doing this. The rears have a nasty habit of coming loose. See http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/atten...ad-305445.html

I did, though I was in the driveway with a bit of a down slope.

Ok, I completed the cheap handling fix today. I was able to just use the jack move the bar into place and bolted it down. Thanks for the info, it gave me to confidence to do it. Now, we will have to see if it is better or worse. Lol
