Auxiliary air hose

Just bought a 40' 1999 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom, and would like to find out where or how to create a auxiliary air hose for tires and toys without adding another air pump and tank. Will not use brake lines!

Welcome to iRV2.

If your coach is on a Freightliner chassis , there should already be , a owner air fitting installed . Mine is on the frame below the drivers feet visible with the gen set extended .

Note; This requires the engine running ( that will air up the suspension ) and coach will have to be re-leveled after use , and depending on tire pressure required might not provide the pressure you need . Volume is relatively low and depending on your " toy " require a long time with the engine running.

air hose

Thank you, manuals so far don't reveal this air up line. Pressure may enough to save someone's tire some day.

On my 2002 Winnebago did not provide the owner access air chuck, they didn’t start putting them on until 2003 I believe. There are several air manifolds like the one Skip showed you can tap into though. I tapped into the one up front near the generator and ran a short jumper to the outside compartment just forward of the left front tire for ease of use. I purchased the extra air manifold from Freightliner and the air fittings from Amazon and local hardware stores. With the engine running it provides enough air pressure to top off the tires.

If your coach has full air brakes it should have a fitting towards the front to pressurize the system (for the tow truck to connect to in case you need to be towed).
If it just has the one fitting you could make a hose that has the same fitting on both ends so you could have your aux air hose.
My coach has one male air fitting and one female air fitting in the forward most basement bin on the driver side.

There were many configurations available to the manufacturers. Case in point, my Horizon has an HWH touch panel-controlled leveling system 310 series which allows pressurizing the air system without airing up the suspension. So while up on leveling jacks, slides out, I can start the engine to pressurize the air system and add air to tires, toys...whatever not having to mess with the air suspension. To air up the suspension the leveling jacks have to be fully retracted, then you touch the “runnin rabbit” button on the switch panel and the airbags begin to fill. I don’t know what system the OP has in his unit but being a Winnebago of late 90’s vintage it might have this function too, he’ll have to investigate. Below is an image of my 310 series control panel with the “runnin rabbit” button.

I suspect you'll be disappointed with using your expensive engine and limited-duty air compressor for topping-off tire pressure. Normally 120 PSI is the maximum air pressure governed. This means having to stop airing a tire, pumping the brake pedal until the air pressure drops enough for the air governor to tell the air compressor to run, waiting until the compressor quits, then adding air to a tire until tire pressure equals MH air pressure, then repeating until you are finished with your tires-or whatever.
BTW, my MH did not come with a place to add an air hose fitting either. Many vehicle engine-driven air compressors only have a 20% duty-cycle.

If you had your heart set on just using it to air up your tires. Check EBay for an air multiplier used or NOS. New they are $400 but I have seen them for around or less than $100. I know a couple owners here installed them. Most are doubles will push air to 200psi and still be safe for most air hoses.

Air fitting on my 02 exec is located in front cargo bay next to propane tank, you have to look hard to find it, so far it has done a great job when needing to top off a tire.
