Auxiliary batteries not connecting

I have a 1994 Fleetwood Flair. When I am connected to shore power, everything electrical works just fine. When I disconnect from shore power the system does not switch over to the Auxiliary batteries . Thus no interior lights etc, The Auxiliary battery cutoff relay does not actuate when I toggle the switch. The main battery cutoff relay works OK. Changed both battery cutoff relays whith no change. Replaced both Auxiliary batteries, no change. Now what? Attached is a pic of the Solenoids and surrounding components in which I do not know what the are. Any ideas?

Have to confirm that signal voltage is reaching the Aux cutoff relay (smaller posts on the relay) and also confirm that there are indeed electrons in the batteries (large lugs on the relay). Confirmation would best be served using a multimeter.

Do you have 12 volt power at all 4 points I marked ?

The 2 items are auto reset circuit breakers. They could be bad.Click image for larger version

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
As corroded the connections are, I would start by cleaning them.

Am I missing something here? Don't the batteries provide power to the interior lights and other 12VDC items? Why would disconnecting shore power make any difference? I'm still trying to learn, so not a snob question.

A converter/charger can power the lights and pumps without the battery. They are connected to the fuse panel in the RV side if the disconnect.

Yes, that is correct. But when I disconnect from shore power the batteries do not take over. That is the problem.

You are correct. That is the way it is suppose to work. But the batteries do not take over like they are suppose to.

Those two circuit breakers may power the house loads.

See if they head to the fuse panel. If they do, look for bad connections or blown fuses there.

Actually Fleetwood used 30 amp manual circuit breakers for that application. There will be black buttons on the output end of each breaker. The two outputs feed the fuse panel located next to the circuit breaker panel inside the coach.

Yes, confirmed that these breakers are manually reset. But I ran a continuity check and they passed.

This is a good clue as no power is getting to those 2 small terminals. I can apply an external 12V power supply to them and they trip OK. Matbe the switch is bad. I will check the switch tomorrow. Thanks
