Awning adjustment

How does a person adjust a an awning. I have one that is so loose that the metal cover goes behind it instead of over it. And my other awning seems to be so tight that it is holding the slide in at the top.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds to me like you probably have a broken spring. With only one there's not enough tension on the awning to allow it to roll in correctly. There's no adjustments other than the initial tension when the awning was installed or fabric replaced. When you have to repaired have both springs replaced. If you don't there's a really good chance you will be doing it again when the older one breaks. That's the voice of experience talking, I replaced only one and the next year was replacing the other one. Good luck.
