Awning cover?

In a earlier post "OMG my awning is out, and I'm driving down the Hwy", brought my attention to the need to lock the awning roller and so I ordered a awning lock, received it and am going to install it tomorrow.

But because my senses are heightened concerning the awning, and getting ready to FT, I ran across this awning cover to overall protect it from basically the beating hot sun an help prolong the life of the fabric. Also I thought it may provide some protection from brushing up against other things while driving....like maybe tree branches and preventing tears and the like. But in reality it's only covering maybe 5" or 6"...or the last wrap on the roller so that's really the only area that's being protected from the "sun". Some MH's have a metal awning cover...we don't. Anyway, as I pondered this option, I'm like ok, we reach our destination, we start to set up our CG site, we'll be here for 2 to 3 wks., so I disengage the awning lock, remove the awning cover and store it ?????? probably I guess under the MH, and then deploy the awning if and when it's needed. After our stay, and we get ready to break camp, get awning cover, retract the awning, put on the awning cover, engage the awning lock and off we go.

Question:
For about $95 or so, and the possible protection it may provide overall, do you see any justification or good reason to purchase a product like this? It seems like kind of a gimmick accessory of sorts to me. Of course I'd get the right size that fits our MH if it's worth it. Your thoughts?

Just my opinion, but it looks like it would be a pain to put on and take off every time.

Is your awning manual? If so , cut a piece of double sided velcro and wrap around the arms when folded up. Put this way up high and another down low on each. Worked for me.

If there's a quartering wind Velcro or bungee cords will do nothing. We were traveling down a Texas country road on a very windy day. The wind took our whole roller off and left the arms attached. We were extremely lucky no one else was on that road at the same time as that roller would have gone through a windshield. After that we bought a 'Awner Saver' device.

Our MH has an electric awning. I'm NOT asking how to secure the awning. I'm asking what you all think of the awning cover with the link I provided.

Recommend checking with manufacturer of your awning to add the aluminum casing wrap designed for protection of the awning. It slides onto the awning rail and the awning slides onto it. Will require at least 2 people and 2 stepladders to install along with relieving roller tension and resetting tension. JMHO

Then add roller locks
