I used a wide strap with heavy duty Velcro. Just strap the two arms together as high up towards the awning as you can reach. Even if the fabric were to start to unfurl, the arms won’t fall away from the coach.

I believe an awning lock keeps the fabric from unfurling but I could be mistaken.

Agreed, but you don’t know if any of them work or not until they don’t. I believe that if the arms stay against the coach the awning fabric probably wouldn’t cause damage to the rest of the coach.
