Power awnings have an ignition and or parking brake interlock for obvious reasons. You would not want to deploy your awning while driving down the interstate etc. While parked, ignition off and parking brake engaged, check for 12V DC at the awning switch. If present, engage the awning switch and check for 12V DC at the awning motor. If present at the motor then you have a bad motor. If voltage present at the switch and not at the motor then check wiring connections at the switch if OK then you have a bad switch. If voltage not present at the switch then it could be fuse, and or interlock. You can also jump the motor with a 12V DC source at the motor itself to check it's function.
